A Message from President and CEO, Scott Ferguson
In early 2016, a new, $163 million, state-of-the-art convention centre in the province’s capital city of Halifax, strategically located on Canada’s Atlantic Coast. Even prior to our new venue opening, we are looking forward to hosting a number of large international events that are closely aligned with our region’s key economic sectors, these include: oceans, defense, medical and life sciences, security and aerospace, financial services, information communications technology, gaming and interactive media and clean technology.
As a proud member of the WTCA, we will continue to use our license and valuable international business network to build prosperity in our region. Our future efforts will be focused on developing strategic partnerships with both private and public sector organizations to attract and leverage international conferences and business events to not only deliver economic benefits from hosting but also to serve as a vehicle for broader business development and international trade.
As my team and I look forward to 2016, we see tremendous potential for our new centre to be a powerful catalyst that enhances Nova Scotia’s position on the global stage through the showcase of our region’s expertise, skilled workforce, and competitive business climate.
